John Cena To Appear on ESPN2's First Take

John Cena was an in-studio guest today on ESPN2's "First Take". Cena put over Shaquille O'Neal, giving his reaction to a 13-year-old boy that wrestled Shaq that was featured in the segment that preceded him. He was asked about the 900th episode of Raw, Cena mentioned the weird fact that WWE mentioned last night, that Jersey Shore would have to remain in syndication until 2083 for it to reach 900 episodes. Asked if there will be a 1000th, Cena said everyone in the building last night will make sure that happens. When asked about being a guest on an upcoming episode of Hannah Montana on The Disney Channel, Cena said he doesn't need to be the toughest guy out there and doesn't have a chip on his shoulder. Cena said he doesn't have to prove that he's tough because when the chips are down, he'll show that he's tough. The episode will air on The Disney Channel on September 12th. Regarding Legendary, Cena said it's an amazing story with an amazing script. He said it's a wonderful motivational story. It's scheduled to be released on theaters on September 10th.

Cena was then asked to pick a winner in the following hypothetical wrestling matches:

Washington Redskins: Head Coach Mike Shanahan vs. Defensive Tackle Albert Haynesworth - Cena liked Haynesworth's toughness but said he knows he misses practice and may be out of shape. Cena sided with Shanahan, giving him a check plus.

LeBron James vs. the entiry city of Cleveland - Cena said the entire city of Cleveland took a tremendous hit when LeBron left. He said LeBron has been made such a big star you had to expect something like what happened this summer. Because he's such a big deal, people had to expect him to make a big deal about it. Cena gave LeBron a check plus.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady vs. New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez - Cena said the Patriots have established themselves but the Jets, the way they've been playing, already feel as if they are ahead of the Patriots. Cean said this will be an awesome rivarly for many years to come. He noted that Pats Head Coach Bill Belichick and Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan are polar opposites and Ryan would have a better run in WWE.

John Cena vs. the Jersey Shore guys - John Cena said he is a Jersey Shore fan and against the Jersey Shore guys they would be late to the ring and would try to rob him when they got there. He says they'd have no chance against him.

We are live from Boston, Massachusetts and your announcers are Michael ‘Official voice of the Raw General Messenger’ Cole and Jerry ‘The King of the 900s’ Lawler.

Bret Hart comes to the ring and he has something to say. Bret says hello to the people of Boston and says that it has been a while. Seventeen years ago, a new show debuted called Monday Night Raw. Bret says that back then, he wondered if the show would catch on. Thanks to everyone, seventeen years and 900 shows later, it looks like it is doing pretty good. Raw has the most shows in the history of primetime television. Bret says that he was there for the very first show. There was only one other wrestler here who was there on the first show as well. That man is the Undertaker. Bret says that it would be appropriate . . .

For Kane to come out and interrupt Bret. Kane mentions the Undertaker. He says that there is no Undertaker any more. Kane says that thanks to him physically decimating him and leaving him to rot in a vegetative state, the Undertaker is a phenom no longer. He is not phenomenal in any way. Kane says that Taker is just a man. Kane says that the man Bret once knew is like Bret. He is weak, feeble, scraggly, over the hill, and irreversibly damaged. The last time that the Undertaker was truly the Phenom it was at Wrestlemania when Taker ended the career of Shawn Michaels. Kane asks Bret if he liked that. Bret made amends with him, but he utterly despised Shawn. He must have enjoyed seeing Shawn laid out to rest.

Bret says that he will savor it when Kane loses to the Undertaker again. Kane tells Bret that he sounds like Taker. Kane says that the only thing he ever wanted was to break out of his brother’s shadow to prove that he is the devil’s favorite demon. Undertaker took out an icon in Shawn Michaels. Kane says that means that he needs to do the same. He needs to take out an icon of his own. Kane says that he needs to take out Bret Hart.

Kane grabs Bret by the throat and the Hart Dynasty comes to the ring. Kane fights off Kidd and Smith. Hart punches Kane but Kane grabs Hart again.

The lights go out and the Undertaker is in the center of the ring when the lights go back on. Kane stares down his brother and he leaves the ring. Kane tells his big brother ‘not yet’.

The General Messenger makes his presence known and Michael Cole gives us the most electrifying introduction in e-mail reading history. Cole tells us that he sees this iconic moment take place. In honor of Raw’s 900th episode, there will be a main event befitting this historic occasion. Bret Hart versus the Undertaker.

Match Number Two: Kofi Kingston and Michael McGillicutty versus Daniel Bryan and Kaval versus The Miz and Alex Riley

Riley, Bryan and Kofi start things off and Riley attacks Bryan from behind and then he knocks Kofi away. Kofi with a drop kick but Bryan breaks up the cover. Bryan with a European uppercut but Kofi with a kick. Bryan with a kick to Kofi and then Bryan punches the Miz. Bryan punches Riley and kicks him in the corner. Kofi with the SOS to Bryan for a near fall. Riley breaks up the cover and he hits a Michinoku Driver on Kofi for a near fall. Riley with an elbow to the head. Bryan with a knee to Riley but Kofi with a forearm to Bryan. Kofi with the Boom drop to Riley but Bryan breaks things up. Kofi with a cross body to Bryan and all three men are down. Kaval and McGillicutty tag in and Michael with a kick but Kaval with a Dragon Sleeper but Riley hits Kaval from behind. Riley punches Michael and Miz tags in but Kaval with a drop kick to Riley and Miz goes to the floor. Michael with a rollup for a near fall on Kaval. Kaval with a Liger kick and then he goes up top for the Warriors Way and he hits it but Miz with the Skull Crushing Finale for the three count.

Winners: Miz and Alex Riley

After the match, Bryan kicks Riley off the apron and then Miz returns to the ring and he hits Bryan in the head with the briefcase.

We are back with the Slam of the Week: Melina defeating Jillian last week only to have Michelle and Layla interrupt Melina’s celebration.

Match Number Two: Melina and Eve Torres versus Michelle McCool and Layla

Michelle and Melina start off and Melina with forearms and Melina knocks Layla to the floor. Michelle with a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Layla tags in and she tosses Melina by the hair. Layla is sent into Michelle and Melina with a rollup for the three count.

Winners: Melina featuring Eve Torres

After the match, it is time for some Real Talk. Michelle says that this victory is a lot like Melina, completely forgettable. Layla says that we need to know who the real champion is in WWE. They challenge Melina to a unification match against Melina at Night of Champions. Michelle and Layla ask Melina if they have a deal.

Melina says that she figured they were going to propose something like that, but she will accept only if it is a lumberjack match.

Michelle and Layla accept the stipulation.

The other Divas still in the company come out to show Michelle and Layla who the lumberjacks are.

Time for the next Raw moment: Episode 889 when Nexus was formed and John Cena fell victim to an eight on one attack.

The five remaining members of Nexus are in the locker room. Tarver says that people are saying that they aren’t the same. Otunga says that they are just trimming the fat and he tells Tarver to go if he doesn’t think that way. Wade says that they will be the biggest stars in the WWE tonight and in three weeks, he will become WWE Champion. They need to do something that will be unforgettable and have people talking about them forever. Wade says that he knows what they can do and we go to commercial.

We are back with another Raw 900th Episode flashback. Episode 850 from September 2009 when Bob Barker was the guest host.

Chris Jericho is in the interview area with Josh Mathews. He asks Josh what the future holds for him. Chris asks if people think it is a gimmick when he says that he is the best in the world. He says it because it is true. Jericho says that he is going to take matters into his own hands. He had an epiphany that he is the greatest performer. If he does not win the WWE Title at Night of Champions, it will be the last you see of Chris Jericho in the WWE. Josh mentions that Jericho has been kicked out of the WWE a dozen times. Jericho says that he wants Josh to see what he is going to do to prove that he is the best in the world at what he does.

Match Number Three: John Morrison and R Truth versus Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre in a Number One Contender Match for the WWE Tag Titles

Cody and Truth start things off and Truth gets the crowd into the match. Rhodes with a kick but Truth with a hip toss and then he does a split for no reason. Rhodes with a forearm to Morrison but Truth with a forearm to the back. All four men are in the ring and Drew and Cody are in control for a moment. The referee loses control and he calls for the bell.

No Contest

Truth with a suicide dive onto Rhodes while Drew kicks Morrison on the floor. Morrison with a drop kick that sends Drew into the computer.

We are back and did you know that people in WWE have a lot of free time to figure out when Jersey Shore would hit their 900th episode.

It is time to go to episode 867 on the Greatest Night in Wrestling History on January 4th when Hell Froze Over when Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart buried the hatchet after something that happened in Canada a few years ago.

Match Number Four: Bret Hart versus Undertaker

Before the match can start, Wade Barrett comes out and he tells Bret and Taker to hold their horses because this match is not going to happen. When people talk about the 900th episode of Raw, they don’t want to talk about two legends, they want to talk about the future and that is Nexus. Wade said earlier today that he was going to do something unforgettable. He will do it by delousing Bret Hart and proving that the Undertaker is indeed a dead man.

Barrett goes after Taker but Taker punches Barrett. Taker with a big boot to Barrett and Barrett is clotheslined over the top rope to the floor.

The lights go out and when they go back on, Kane is in the ring and Kane punches Taker but Taker punches Kane back. They stand toe to toe in the ring with Kane punching Taker.

The lights go out again and when they go back on Taker is the only person in the ring.

Nexus music plays again and the other four guys make their way to the ring. They join Barrett and circle Taker’s yard. Taker punches Tarver off the apron and then he takes care of Slater and Otunga. He has Barrett by the throat and the lights go out.

The lights go back on and Barrett has Taker on his shoulders and he hits the fireman’s carry slam.

Kane stands on the stage and watches what Nexus is going to do. They pull Taker towards the corner for the World’s Most Hesitant 450 Splash.

Take tries to sit up like he used to in the day but Kane might be right and he is no longer the top dog in the eyes of the devil.

We are back and there’s Fenway Park.

It is time for a Moments Ago Moment of Kane overshadowing Nexus’ plan to take care of the Undertaker and then Kane’s light switch gimmick helped Nexus.

Jack Swagger comes out and he says that they should hail the returning conquering All American Hero. Jack says that when he left Raw he was an All American American American American. He returns a former World Champion. Jack says that he might know why Johnny Damon doesn’t want to return to Boston, but Jack has no problem bringing a little swagger to Monday Night Raw.

Match Number Four: Jack Swagger versus Evan Bourne

Swagger with a kick and forearms to the back. Swagger sends Bourne into the turnbuckles and then Bourne with a kick to the leg and Alberto Del Rio interrupts as he drives into the building.

Swagger with an Irish whip while Ricardo Rodriguez introduces Alberto. Swagger with shoulders in the corner. Swagger tries for a running power slam but Bourne escapes and he hits a back kick. Bourne goes up top for the shooting star press and he lands on his feet when Swagger moves. Swagger clips Bourne and he puts Bourne in the ankle lock and Bourne taps.

Winner: Jack Swagger

Alberto Del Rio introduces himself and he says that the little Chihuahua Rey Mysterio won’t be here tonight. Alberto says that the only place you can see Rey is in the hospital. What he did to Rey last week was phenomenal and incredible. Alberto says that he is not completely happy because the audience on Raw did not see what happened. Alberto says that he is going to recreate that magic moment, but with a different Chihuahua. He goes into the ring and he attacks Evan Bourne and puts him in a cross arm breaker. Alberto kicks Bourne out of the ring and then he puts Bourne’s arm in the chair.

Mark Henry runs to the ring and he punches the chair. Alberto thinks again about going back to the ring.

Michael Cole talks about the first WWE show in China and we have a video package.

We are back with another Raw Moment: Episode 331: The Rock “This is Your Life” segment that was the highest rated segment in Raw history.

The Straight Edge Society comes out and they are one member short. They pose in the corner before Punk takes the mic. Punk says that he is better than the Rock. He doesn’t drink. He doesn’t smoke. He doesn’t make crappy movies like the Tooth Fairy. Punk asks if the fans like the Rock. Punk asks if they miss the Rock on Raw. Punk says that he doesn’t miss the Rock. It is because the Rock epitomizes the septic tank of a show that is Monday Night Raw. 900 shows is a milestone, but for 900 shows, Raw has been promoting poor family values. Punk has two words for us: Katie Vick. Punk says that it will drive you to drink, but he will save you. Punk says that he is here to show four of the most atrocious acts committed on Raw. They are not pretty and tonight he is Raw’s judge, jury and executioner. Exhibit A: Property Damage from Episode 824 when Triple destroyed Randy Orton’s house before Wrestlemania. Exhibit B: Irresponsible and Reckless Behavior: Edge and John Cena fighting into the water in Bridgeport in Episode 691. Punk says that he would never throw anyone into a body of water because it is bad sportsmanship. Exhibit C: Trespassing: Episode 257: Invading Nitro in 1998. Exhibit D: Excessive Use of Alcohol via firehose: Episode 304 in 1999 when Steve Austin had the beer hose and unleashed suds on the McMahon family.

Punk says that he cannot find the words that describe the shame that he feels for them. He says that he is ashamed to see the fans cheer someone like that. Punk says that everyone would pay their hard earned money to see Steve Austin walk down the ramp and spray CM Punk with beer via a fire hose.

Glass breaks and Punk has played the crowd because Steve Austin is not coming out. Punk gets a good laugh out of it and he asks if the people of Boston are disappointed and angry with him. Punk says that he is always that disappointed when he comes here to see each and every one of them. He says that he is happy that they are disappointed. Punk says that he has one more clip to leave on a high note. Punk has a clip from a show called Smackdown. We see the 199th episode of Smackdown when Brock Lesnar superplexed Big Show and imploded the ring. Punk says that he could watch that clip over and over because it represents everything he could never be. He could never be criminally obese. He says that Big Show is so big he broke an entire ring.

Big Show’s music plays and he comes out.

Punk mentions that they play Steve Austin’s music and no one comes out, but they play Big Show’s music and we get Captain Insano.

Show is insulted that Punk would make a fat joke. If Punk wants to embarrass him, he can talk about the chronic diarrhea when Eddie Guerrero gave him a tainted burrito. Or the time that he had to do the sumo wrestling thing. That was embarrassing. Show says that Punk should have brought up Show kissing Vickie Guerrero. Show tells Punk that he loves making people laugh. Show says that he does impersonations. Show does a Straight Edge Hogan promo. Punk says that was boring.

Show sulks a little and then Show says that Punk was being mean. Punk says that there is nothing ‘high’ about the straight edge society and that is what makes them better than Show. Show says he is not high, he is just tall. Show chops Punk. Luke punches Show but Show punches back. Show with a forearm to the back and then he clotheslines Luke over the top rope to the floor.

We are back and Did You Know that Monday Night Football wishes they have had more games than episodes of Raw.

Time for another Raw moment: Episode 450 in 2002 when Triple H returned from his quad injury.

Josh Mathews brings out Sheamus. Josh asks Sheamus about his match in three weeks, but Sheamus takes the mic. He says that it is a celebration tonight, except for one person, Triple H. He isn’t here because of Sheamus and Triple H is never coming back. Sheamus says that is why he is being punished by having to defend his title against five people. Sheamus wants to know how this is fair. He calls everyone a bunch of Plastic Paddys. He says that he is the only true Irish man. In addition to the match at the pay per view, he has to team with four of his opponents at the pay per view. One of his partners is Randy Orton, the man who tried to end his career. Sheamus says that this is discrimination.

Before the ACLU can come to his side, Edge’s music plays and he comes out. He says that Sheamus is giving him a headache fella. Edge says that since he debuted on Episode 265, he has been thrown into the Long Island Sound, had weddings broken up, had deranged ex-employees come through the crowd and attack him, and hit him with chairs. For everything that has happened to him, he has thrown back three times as many. Edge says that he has won 29 titles. He has won the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, and Money in the Bank. Edge says that he will win the Six Pack Challenge. He tells Sheamus that he can go back to the lab with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Last week when the Six Pack Challenge was announced by the General Messenger via his spokesman Michael Cole and then the Barrett beat down and finisher-a-palooza.

Match Number Five: Edge, John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Chris Jericho versus Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, and Michael Tarver in anElimination Match

Jericho and Cena have some words as Jericho tells John that he is starting. He will face Michael Tarver. They circle around the ring and then they lock up in the 900th main event on Raw. Jericho decides to leave the ring and he thinks about going back into the ring, but he walks to the back and gets eliminated.

Edge is the next to try to do something, or will he? He pushes the referee and gets disqualified.

Nexus get a good laugh while Cena decides to actually wrestle someone. Cena punches Tarver and sends him into the turnbuckles. Cena with an Irish whip and bulldog. Cena punches Tarver and he tags in Sheamus who attacks Tarver in the corner and kicks him. Sheamus with a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Slater tags in and Sheamus with forearms. Sheamus with a suplex for a near fall. Sheamus punches Slater and sends him into the turnbuckles. Sheamus with knees and they force Slater to the apron. Sheamus with an elbow to the throat and he throws Slater back into the ring and he gets a near fall on Slater.

Otunga tags in and he puts Sheamus in a side head lock. Sheamus tries for a shoulder tackle but Otunga stays on his feet. Otunga poses and Sheamus with a clothesline. Sheamus with another clothesline to Otunga. Sheamus kicks Otunga in the corner and Otunga with a hard Irish whip and he punches Sheamus. Slater tags back in and he kicks Sheamus. The referee warns Slater. Gabriel tags in and he kicks Sheamus and punches him. Gabriel tags in Barrett and he kicks Sheamus and punches him. Slater tags back in and he kicks Sheamus. Slater with a surfboard. Sheamus with a boot and Gabriel stops the Celtic Cross. Slater with a boot to Sheamus followed by punches. Sheamus fights out of the corner but Gabriel with a kick and Slater with Sweetness and he pins Sheamus.

Cena with the flying shoulder tackles followed by the Blue Thunder Bomb and Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena with the Attitude Adjustment and he pins Slater.

Barrett attacks Cena and he punches and kicks Cena. Barrett throws Cena to the floor and Tarver, Otunga, and Gabriel attack Cena before Barrett goes out to bring Cena into the ring. Before they return to the ring, Barrett slams Cena’s head into the announce table and he gets a near fall. Barrett kicks Cena and punches him. Gabriel tags back in and he hits a jumping back heel kick. Barrett punches Cena on the apron while Gabriel distracts the referee. Gabriel gets a near fall on Cena. Gabriel with a cross body into the corner for a near fall. Otunga tags in and he tries for a suplex and Cena blocks it and Cena hits a suplex of his own. Otunga knocks Orton off the apron to prevent Cena from making the tag. Cena puts Otunga in the STF and Otunga taps.

Gabriel hits a 450 Splash and he pins Cena. Orton with an RKO on Gabriel to eliminate him.

Tarver misses a Superman punch and Orton with an RKO to pin him. Barrett with the fireman’s carry slam on Orton for the three count.

Winners: Nexus

Update: Brought back to the top with RAW dark match results

Following last night’s WWE RAW, there was a dark match for the WWE Title. Sheamus defended his title in a triple-threat Steel Cage Match against John Cena and strangely, The Undertaker. Sheamus won the match, when he escaped the cage as John Cena and The Undertaker were facing off. Kane done the same stuff as he done on RAW with the lights and appeared in front of The Undertaker following the match. Both men faced off and The Nexus attacked John Cena.

A bunch of guys (Mark Henry, The Hart Dynasty and others) came out to make the save and left Wade Barrett lying in the ring.

John Cena was interviewed by TVGuide.com to promote the 900th RAW show tonight from Boston. You can read the interview below or by clicking the link above.

The WWE does nothing small. So fans can likely expect one giant card when the wrestling titan stages the 900th episode of its flagship series WWE Raw tonight in Boston. "We usually do something epic, and this certainly is a milestone for us," says wrestling superstar John Cena, who will face off with Sheamus and Randy Orton in a steel cage championship title match.

A member of the WWE since 2002, Cena estimates he's been an active part of the last 200 episodes. "It's really a testament to the fact that the WWE has entertained millions of fans all over the world," he says. "You get the music of a rock concert, the athleticism of a football game and the entertainment of a Broadway play all rolled into one."

And while Cena says he has seen "damn near close to all" of the Raw broadcasts, he does admit to making time for another TV guilty pleasure: MTV's Jersey Shore. He could even see the Situation inside the ring. "They're so over the top that I think our fans would immediately attach themselves to that cast," Cena says. "If they're looking for work after Jersey Shore ends, they may want to try the world of sports entertainment." Hey, it worked for the Real World's Miz!

1. William Regal defeated Goldust in 10:30. Both men lock up and Goldust went for an early cover for an one count. Both men exchanged wrist locks and Regal grabbed the ropes. Regal got on offense by throwing some stiff shots and worked on Goldust’s arm. Regal threw Goldust out of the ring to the commercial break…[C]

The show returned with Goldust suplexing Regal back in the ring and gave him six rounds of haymakers in the corner. Regal pleaded with Goldust and he continued to get on offense until Regal hit Goldust hard and landed a knee in Goldust’s head for multiple nearfalls.

Regal applied a chinlock to Goldust and Goldust broke out but he caught an uppercut to the face for a nearfall. Regal went back to the chinlock and both men exchanged punches and uppercuts to some good crowd reaction.
Goldust botched an bulldog for an nearfall. Regal hit a hangman to the running knee to the face for the win.

Still pictures of WWE’s trip to China were shown and the Smackdown team took over for the rest of the show. The Gatecrashers got some heat and the Dudebusters got some pumped out heat which babyfaces should get…

2. The Dudebusters defeated Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins in 5:00. Barretta and Hawkins started the match. Hawkins picked on Baretta but Baretta hit a nice dropkick to Hawkins. The DBs worked together on Hawkins and Archer got in the matchup and started to dominate.

Both heels worked on Croft in and out of the ring. Croft got back in the match with some blows but the heels worked together on Croft. Archer hit an big boot to Croft and choked him out on the rope.

Hawkins hit a stiff boot to Croft’s head when the referee wasn’t looking. Archer applied an chin lock and Croft got back in the match with a chinbuster. Baretta got back in the match with an tag and an knee to Archer’s chin. Baretta hit a missile dropkick for a nearfall. Rapid fire offense was done and Baretta won the match with Slice Bread DDT…[Q3][C]

An Undertaker hype video was shown and the Raw rebound was shown. Drew McIntyre made his entrance for his match, next…[C]

3. Drew McIntyre defeated Chris Masters in 14:30. Both men lock up and Drew shoves Masters. They lock up again and Masters converted to an wrist lock. Masters went for the Master Lock early but Drew crawled to the corner. Drew got up and worked on Masters in the corner with stomps and punches. Drew gloated and Masters got back on offense. Masters hit a shoulder block off the middle rope and knocked Drew outside of the ring.

[Q4] Masters worked on drew by the announcer’s booth but Drew pushed Masters into the ring post. Drew hit a big boot and slammed Masters ankle into the ring post. Drew told the referee to count him out and Masters made the count. Drew continued to stomp Master’s ankle. Masters tried to get back on offense but Drew continued the attack for multiple nearfalls. Drew hit an leg whip to Masters to the commercial break…[C]

The show returned with Drew still dominating Masters. Drew continued the attack on Masters with a toe hold submission. Drew went for a figure four, but Masters countered into an Samoan Drop. Masters got some offense in with multiple clotheslines and a double-A spinebuster for a nearfall. Masters chopped up Drew and hit a botched neckbreaker for a nearfall.

Drew continued the attack by stomping Masters leg. Masters limped up and hit an power slam to Drew and locked in the Master Lock, but Drew threw him out of the ring. Drew rammed Masters into the security railing. Masters continued to limp and Drew hit the Future Shock DDT for the win.

NXT Television Ratings/Warehouse 13 Rating

The 08/24/2010 edition of WWE NXT did a 0.93 rating, with 1,130,000 viewers, this episode featured MVP in a loosing effort against “Dashing” Cody Rhodes.

Warehouse 13 featuring Cody Rhodes did a 1.77 rating, with 2,361,000 viewers.

The replay of Warehouse 13 that aired after WWE NXT did a 0.51 rating, with 609,000 viewers.

Cody Rhodes recently did an interview with ChicagoNow.com discussing a variety of topics from “Warehouse 13″ to wrestling and his family. Read the full interview below:

Dashing Cody Rhodes doesn’t get asked to kiss during World Wrestling Entertainment broadcasts, so he didn’t know what to expect on “Warehouse 13.”

But his first on-camera kiss–with series star Joanne Kelly–definitely wasn’t sexy.

“It wasn’t the emotional, loving, two-souls-connecting type kiss,” Rhodes told me during a phone chat last week from Marietta, Ga. “It was her with buffalo sauce all over her face and a half a cold buffalo wing in her mouth and us kind of a slobbering on one another.”

The WWE superstar explores his softer side in the “WH13″ episode “Merge with Caution,” which airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday on Syfy. Rhodes guest stars as Kurt Smoller, the former star quarterback of the football team at Myka Bering’s high school. Myka (Kelly) used to tutor Kurt and during their 10-year reunion, sparks fly when they meet again.

The only problem is–and some might consider this a spoiler but it is being shown in the trailer for the episode–Myka and Pete (Eddie McClintock) exchange bodies at some point in the episode thanks to an artifact.

Rhodes wouldn’t say whom Kurt ends up kissing. “It may not be what it seems for Kurt when he speaks to Myka,” he said. “He might actually be speaking to Pete.”

If the first kiss involved buffalo sauce, maybe it is goofy Pete in Myka’s body. Still, it was Rhodes and Kelly locking lips. Rhodes said the biggest shock for him on set was that he and Kelly never talked about the kissing scene beforehand. He had an acting coach helping him with his scenes, and they discussed it. He and director Anton Cooper chatted about it. The actors rehearsed briefly, but without kissing. Then it came time to film the real thing.
“It was like riding a motorcycle blind, man,” Rhodes said, adding that despite the pressure, “it went smoothly, sans the buffalo sauce.”

“The truth is, Joanne Kelly is such a beautiful woman that it’s one of those moments that anyone, anyone doing it would really at least have to chuckle on the inside from the fact that, ‘Gosh this is what I’m doing and I’m getting paid to do it,’” he said. “That’s pretty great.”

Despite the good time he had on set, and the fact that he’d be happy to reprise the Kurt Smoller role, Rhodes has no aspirations to get into acting like former WWE superstars The Rock, John Cena and Steve Austin, among others.

“I love what I do at the WWE and I’m just now starting to really get into my own stride,” he said. “I’m only 25 and I’m going to be working for a pretty long time.”

He’ll get to do it on Syfy beginning Oct. 1, when WWE Friday Night SmackDown moves to the network with a two-hour block of wrestling. Rhodes said the move is a good one for all involved, and that fans can expect a new, youthful, character-driven Smackdown with such superstars as McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk–”a really tremendous, tremendous list.”

Don’t expect any kissing, however. Even though a gentleman never kisses and tells, I had to ask Rhodes how, after that initial messy kiss between Kurt and Myka, the romantic kiss went.

“Oh, I’m no gentleman. I don’t know if you’ve seen my work with the WWE, I’m no gentleman,” he said. “Honest to God, it was one of the best kisses I can remember. It truly was.”

Rhodes told me about his wrestling heritage–his dad is the legendary Dusty Rhodes and his brother is Goldust; that he would like to play Superman one day, and that he hopes he’s still dashing when he wins the World Heavyweight Championship.

Tell me about Kurt.
Oh, Kurt Smoller role was a very fun role, he being Myka’s high school love interest. What I like about Kurt is a little different than standard television and film jocks. In high school he was the cool captain of the football team, the quarterback. Ten years down the road when it comes to the reunion it wasn’t like all had fallen out for him; he was still pretty cool. So it wasn’t the standard sort of a guy who couldn’t hang on. Kurt had moved on and Kurt, according to Myka and you know, even Kurt’s girlfriend from high school, Kurt still looked
just as good.

Otherwise you wouldn’t be playing him, right?
Well, I mean, I’d still be excited about anything over the ropes in television, but yeah, I would be a little less excited if I was playing some washed up guy, that’s for sure.

He’s also unlike some high school jocks on TV because he seems to be a nice guy too.
Yeah, yeah. And that I think he learned perhaps from his mistakes in his teenage days. That’s actually where the episode kind of picks up with him, I guess you’d call it, making a pass at Myka Bering who he vaguely remembers as the girl used to tutor him in school. She apparently has grown into quite the woman.

So she wasn’t as striking in high school as she is now?
I don’t know that she wasn’t striking. Let’s say that she might have just been a hair tie and taken her glasses away from being striking. She didn’t really know yet how to exude herself.

Is there anything about the role that sort of reminds you of your own high school experiences?
Yeah, it certainly does. I was playing a little bit older; my 10-year anniversary will be in 2014. There was a girl that sat next to me in creative writing class who was my favorite part of the day, getting to talk to her. She was what I tried to use as inspiration for the relationship that existed between Myka and Kurt Smoller. So that was very simple. You know there’s one that, you wouldn’t call them “ones that got away,” but you like call them ones that you never went to bat for.

You kind of wonder, “What if?”
Yeah exactly. Exactly that. You wonder about them.

So is this something you want to start doing more of, doing the acting things?
You know, we have a lot of guys who have bridged over from sports entertainment to the silver screen, the little screen and for me, I had fun. I really did. And I would certainly come back. I think Kurt Smoller needs even more to get involved with an artifact somewhere on “”Warehouse 13.” But I love what I do at the WWE and I’m just now starting to really get into my own stride. I’m only 25 and I’m going to be working for a pretty long time. I love it too much.

I was doing a little research and I watched some video interview you did where the person interviewing you kept asking you if what the WWE do is real or is it fake? You just said, “We entertain. It’s entertainment.” Do you feel that the acting is just another step beyond what you already do?
It’s funny because like, if you went up to Christian Bale in an airport, or if you saw Christian Bale … and you went up to him and you said, “Oh my gosh, Batman. You’re Batman, so it’s a pleasure to meet you Bruce Wayne.” What we do is no different. We just happen to use our real names a lot of time on TV.

So it’s so funny that some of the most educated people still like to do the witch hunt and ask the “Is wrestling real” question. Of course wrestling is not real. I always like to say, “It’s fixed, it’s not fake,” because we put ourselves through a tremendous amount of physicality and it’s a dance man! And the WWE universe and the people watching–they’re all part of it. They’re all playing an instrument. It’s so much fun and it’s so past the day of the ’80′s “wrassling.”

All right, but you guys are definitely doing all that physical stuff; you have to train and stay fit.
You got to be training. We tell kids all the time, you can’t watch one of our DVDs without sitting through the “Don’t Try This at Home” message. I got a bursa sac on my left elbow right now, my knees are a little roughed up, I got a minor tear in my right bicep and that’s a good day.

It’s funny, when I started my two days of shooting the “Warehouse” episode, I had gotten punched square in the eye a few days before, and my eye was starting to get infected. It was not conjunctivitis, but another sort of infection, like inflammation in my eye and it looked like it was going to be like nasty pink eye. I was so scared that like by the second day of the shoot it would be inflamed and big, so I was pumping that thing full of eye drops the whole time I was there. And when I finally got a chance to look at the footage, I thought, “Thank God you really can’t tell.” Because the day after it was as big and red and puffy as it could be.

Good thing you kept it at bay. I hear you’re a super hero and comic book fan. Would you ever do a super hero movie?
Actually, oh my gosh, that’s something I would-I know this sounds like, you know, how many people say this very same thing? But man I love super heroes. I love comics, but specifically I love superhero comics. I’m not really a fan of the mature, grittier comics, zombie comics. They’re cool and stuff, but I like men in tights, women in tights, putting their boots on like I do out there. Heroes with powers, mutant powers or whatever. I like that stuff. I don’t know why they didn’t like Brandon Routh, but the world needs another Superman, man.

Is that who you’d want to do?
Oh, I mean I have the credentials in terms of hair color and size and my eyes and stuff like that if you’re going straight from the DC database. But I’d do anything, man. I’d do anything from the obscure like Black Bolt to the high profile like a Superman. I love comics.

That’s cool. So WWE Friday Night SmackDown moves to SyFy this fall? Are you excited about that? Is that a good thing?
Yeah. What a tremendous move, I really think, for both parties. And right now it’s so cool to be a part of SmackDown. I said this the other day; I don’t want to go back to RAW. I’ve been on RAW, that being the Monday night show, a show that’s been around a little longer.

To me, SmackDown is the better show. And it doesn’t always get credit. What we’re bringing to SyFy is just a tremendous line of long-lasting characters. There’s been a huge movement in the WWE and you have almost all those guys that everyone is waiting to reach the ceiling. You have almost all those guys on SmackDown–McIntyre, myself, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk. It’s a really tremendous, tremendous list.

With your dad, Dusty Rhodes, and brother Dustin, or Goldust, and a lot of your extended family were or are in the wrestling business. What’s you favorite memory of your dad’s career?
Any chance I could get when they were in the south near here [Marietta, Ga.] Any chance I could get [to see a] WCW Live Event I would get out there and I loved the shows. I didn’t really like back stage, I didn’t really like to lift the veil. I liked to be out in the crowd and I was a fan. And my dad, I guess the best way to put it is he didn’t smarten me up. He let it be magical for me for a very long time. And I can remember too, he didn’t work in the WWE, which at the time was the WWF, he didn’t work there for too, too long, but I remember specifically the first time I ever got in a ring, a WWE ring was, gosh I was maybe only four-years-old, he was on “Wrestle Mania” it was in Toronto, Canada, and he picked me up and carried me in the ring with his hands under my arms and put me over the top rail and let my feet touch the ground. I think I walked around for maybe only a few seconds before he got in the ring himself, picked me back up and put me outside the ring. I don’t know what his intentions were, or if he didn’t want me to get too hooked or what. That’s one of things, I’m not even sure if it was real, but I know it was. I know it did really happen and it’s one of my favorite memories.

Did you always want to wrestle, to follow into his footsteps?
I didn’t think I was ever going to do anything else. When I was about 19, I had a streak of rebellion in me and at the moment I wasn’t confident I could compete in pro wrestling and sports entertainment. I went to L.A. and got into an acting school out there and I tried that side of entertainment. I was out there thinking, I knew this was a bad thought process, I was out there thinking that when this was over, when you’ve succeeded here, you can get into wrestling. That’s no way at 19 to go about it, so I went back to my first love and moved to Louisville, Ken., where I began to train at Ohio Valley Wrestling to be a WWE Superstar.

Is there anything special that you guys are going to do this fall on SyFy? Anything new that you can talk about that will be in the shows and everything?
The show very much sells itself and has a tremendous track record with it’s past networks and it’s always such a huge hit. But I can say, I think you’ll see a new face to SmackDown and I think when you have such youth and talent like we do, and I include myself in that group, it is going to be a different SmackDown. For so long it had been “The Rock’s SmackDown” and then it was the “Undertaker’s SmackDown.” Right now it’s somebody else’s SmackDown and you’re really just waiting to see really who gets put in that position. Certainly that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing the Undertaker, but it’s really I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart, SmackDown is the best show WWE offers and it’s going to be very much just that on SyFy.

I have a few questions from Twitter. @WWEdivasource wants to know which diva would you like to work with the most?
Layla. You know, she has a nice butt and an English accent and I really like English accents.

And nice butts?
I’ve worked with her briefly and just hearing that accent is killer.

@GeekToMe asks: Has the WWE felt any pressure to tone down the violence because of Linda McMahon’s political aspirations?
It’s a great question, but it’s funny because the WWE went TV-PG … before Linda McMahon began her run for Senate and the two don’t go hand-in-hand. Theey’re certainly both great moves. She will be a great senator and WWE, it was the best move to go TV-PG. That style before was “wrassling,” is the best way to describe it. When people say, “That’s wrassling,” it’s blood and things and it’s not so much family entertainment.

Trust me, I grew up on wrassling. But I’m hoping this new generation grows up on sports entertainment because there are still heavy collisions and unbelievable physicality. There are some really amazing things the guys can do, but we want our audience to be young boys and girls and we want them to grow up with us. We’re not out to please a small sect of gays in their late 20′s who want to see all the stuff they saw in the late 90′s. The chance of that happening is zero.

Who would you like to work a match with if you could with anyone in history, who would it be and what kind of match would it be?
Well, my favorite professional wrestlers was WWE Superstar was Shawn Michaels and I got the opportunity to work with him. I have now another opportunity, but it’s just got to present itself in a way that’s entertaining for the fans. I’d love to work with my brother, Goldust. I think that if he was to have a last match, I’d sure want it to be [with] me. He’s on the backside of his career and he can still go like somebody on the front side of their career, right in their prime, but he’d expressed to me that he’d like to get in there with me and I would love to get in there with him.

So any family rifts have been repaired? I’d read your dad and he had a falling out.
Yeah, in the wrestling game, it was a very public falling out the two of them had and he kind of left me by the wayside. I wasn’t able to be there when he initially debuted the character Goldust, which was, at the time, envelop-pushing, ahead of its time. It’s been quite some time now since he came back into our family, but I never would have imagined that we would be working in the WWE together. I always thought I would be up here by myself just with the name, but it’s Goldust on Monday Night RAW, and it’s Dusty Rhodes, our old man, down at the WWE’s developmental territory training future super stars. So it’s the family business.

That’s great. So the last question, are you going to become the first dashing world heavyweight champion?
You know? I certainly hope. I think it’s only a matter of time, but I hope to say that when I do win the World Heavyweight championship I’ll still be the Dashing Cody Rhodes. But that seem like a name that may not roll off the tongue, but it’s a name that sticks. So, I’d say yes.

Update On Skip Sheffield

To follow up on earlier reports regarding Skip Sheffield suffering an injury at an 8/18 WWE house show in Hawaii, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting Sheffield suffered a compound fracture in his left ankle and will need surgery. He is expected to have surgery some time next week once the swelling does down. Sheffield is expected to miss anywhere from four to six months of action as a result. This is obviously very bad timing for Sheffield as The Nexus storyline isn't expected to still be around when he is healthy again with talks indicating it could end as early as October.

More Details On The WWE Release of Serena

To follow up on reports late Monday night, Serena (Serena Deeb) was officially released by WWE last Friday on August 20. The company didn't make an announcement immediately publicly as they normally do since she will appear on this week's Smackdown that was taped last week.

As rumored earlier, the reasoning for her release was disciplinary action. While sources within the company wouldn't give an exact reason for her release from the company, she was described as not "living the gimmick" of being straight edge when out in public.

Were told they tried to send her a message on Smackdown a few weeks ago by booking the angle of her almost being kicked out of the group, but clearly it didn't get through. An official announcement isn't expected by WWE until Friday or the weekend once the episode of Smackdown airs.

Chris Jericho's Deal With WWE To Expire Very Soon

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Chris Jericho's contract with WWE expires in a few weeks and he has not come to terms on a new deal. In regards to negotiations between Jericho and WWE, were told both sides are talking and it was not a given a deal would be finalized anytime soon.

I am so thankful for all of the Tweets and support I have gotten regarding winning the Diva’s Championship. It’s unreal. My fifth title reign and it’s an astounding accolade. Everything in my life leading to that point in time…. the bad and good; all the hardships, all the haters who judged me with out even getting to know me & much more. On the other side I’ve been blessed to have the people that have touched my life and made that win at Summer Slam an unforgettable moment that will be treasured for the rest of my life. Thank you for that.

I have said this many of times; the title does not define me, I define the title. Many women through out wrestling history have defined the titles they fought for. Their love, desire, pride and respect gave their titles significance. These women stood for something; affected people’s lives; caused change… They are the ones that changed a piece of shiny metal into a prestigious symbol to be held by the greats.

Just because a person holds a title doesn’t make them a champion. We have seen people Forrest Gump their way to a title. Granted, a win is a win, but a champion is a champion with or without the title. To be a true champion is rare, and it can’t be faked. When a champion holds a title, they give it meaning.

-dictionary definition of “champion”– A person who has defeated all opponents in competition, a fighter/ warrior… a person who fights for or defends any person or cause.

Being the kind of champion I’m talking about is more than holding the coveted Championship in your hands for all to see. It’s how you carry yourself. What you stand for. Overcoming obstacles. Standing up/fighting for what you love and cherish.

Whether I am seen as a champion or not, I put my heart into an art that I believe in. I fight because I love it, even when it doesn’t seem to love me.

“Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. – It’s harsh, and cruel. But that’s why there’s us. Champions. It doesn’t matter where we come from, what we’ve done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be.”

I have faith that women’s wrestling can be great and it can be more than what it is. I know it will be. Through it all, I hope to help add honor to the adorned championship and live up to what it means to be a Champion.

John Cena's New Movie "Blood Brothers"

Below are details on John Cena’s upcoming movie “Blood Brothers” that he’ll be filming in October

John Cena will begin filming his next WWE Studios film “Blood Brothers” in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 10/4. Cena will be playing Sam Cleary, a police officer and one of three brothers (the other two are a Bail Bondsman and a thief) seeking a reward the FBI has offered for the return of a kidnapped American billionaire being held in a Mexican dungeon. The film will mark the first production from WWE Studios in some time that wasn’t shot in New Orleans and will be Cena’s fourth WWE film.

8 - 24 NXT Results

Last week, we lost two more rookies. First Percy Watson had to take Showtime on the road. Then we saw Husky Harris finally end his run. Then we saw Cody Rhodes show that not only is he ‘dashing’, he is a man of action.

We are live on tape from Fresno, California and your announcers are Josh ‘When do I get to guest star on Warehouse 13’ Mathews and Michael ‘Internet Darling’ Cole. Your host is Matt ‘Now I’m not that bad on Pay Per Views, am I’ Striker.

The pros come out to sit on the stage.

It is time for the remaining rookies to come out and they are Kaval, Alex Riley, and Michael McGillicutty.

Matt Striker joins them in the ring and he reminds us that twelve weeks ago, there were eight rookies who wanted to be a WWE Star. We are now down to the final three with one week to go. Matt wants to know from the rookies how it feels to have gotten this far.

Michael says that this is the greatest job in the world. This is the greatest time of his life. He credits Kofi for a lot of his success. He gets to perform in the same ring as his father and that makes it all worth it.

Alex says that he expected to be here. He says that this contest is about finding the next breakout ‘STAR’. That means a total package. He says that he is that total package. He looks the part, acts the part, and talks the part. Alex says that he will have a pay per view opportunity while Miz will have the briefcase. He says that Sheamus better hope that he doesn’t get there first because Sheamus is dismissed.

Kaval says that it is indescribable. He thanks the WWE Universe for the support that they have given him. He was almost ready to celebrate last week due to one pro because his rookie was eliminated. That pro should be ashamed of himself because he couldn’t get his rookie into the final.

Cody tells Kaval to watch his tongue.

Kaval says that Cody got into the company because of his father and he didn’t earn his way into the company.

Cody says that he wants to know what else Kaval believes in besides booster seats and really bad promos.

Kaval says that he is the last of a dead breed because he earned his way to get here to perform for the WWE Universe. Kaval says that it is easy to talk from 50 feet, but what about face to face.

Cody says that he is floored at Kaval’s originality. He attacked Cody’s heritage and that is so original. He wants to put it as politely as he can. He says that Kaval is the gum that he scrapes off his boots. He tells Napoleon that he is a wee little rookie, while Cody says that he is a pro. Cody says that his answer is no.

Montel Vontavious Porter says that he cannot stand here and let it go. Porter says that Kaval stands up and makes a challenge. Cody says that this doesn’t concern him. Does Kaval sleep at the foot of MVP’s bed or is that for his babysitters as Cody looks at Michelle and Layla. Porter says that he has been watching Cody and since Cody won’t accept Kaval’s challenge because he isn’t on the same level, why not accept his challenge for a match tonight.

Cody tells Porter that just to shut everyone up, he accepts the challenge.

We go to commercial and a trivia contest is next.

We are back and it is time for the WWE Trivia challenge with the three rookies. Matt says that in order to be Superstars, you need to know about the history.

The first question was to name the participants in the Iron Man Match at Wrestlemania 12. Michael McGillicutty gets it right and takes the lead with 100 points. The next question is who Pete Gas, Joey Abs, and Rodney are part of what group and Kaval gets it right to tie McGillicutty. The third question is whose entrance music starts with You Think You Know me and Michael takes the lead back. The fourth question is what billionaire did Vince McMahon put his hair on the line against and Michael extends his lead. The next question is which wrestler’s finisher is the Killswitch and Kaval edges closer to Michael. Question number six is who performs Triple H’s music and Michael is wrong and Kaval ties Michael. We are at the end of round one. Michael and Kaval are tied with 300 points while Alex Riley is watching.

Round two starts with a question about the first Intercontinental Champion and Kaval takes the lead. The next question asks who won the Diva Search in 2007 and Michael ties Kaval. The next question is to finish the theme for Demolition and Kaval is back in the lead. The next question is what did the Dynamic Dudes ride on their way to the ring and Kaval is close and Alex Riley is just as far away from the correct answer while Michael does not answer.

Matt asks Alex about his great performance so far and Alex says that he does not care. Kaval suggests that the varsity villain must have spent more time on the field and not in the classroom.

The next question is to name the person who won the WWE title the most time and Alex gets on the board.

Kaval wins the challenge and Michelle and Layla celebrate with him. Matt says that Kaval will have a feature about him on WWE.com tomorrow.

Josh reminds us that voting begins at Noon Eastern on Wednesday after Michael Cole stops gushing about Alex Riley getting one answer correct.

They lock up again and Porter backs Rhodes into the corner and Porter with a clean break and Rhodes tells Porter it was a good thing he didn’t go for the face again. Porter with a side head lock but Rhodes with forearms. Porter with a shoulder tackle and Rhodes with a drop toe hold. Porter sets for a punch but Rhodes backs away and has something to say to the referee. Porter with clotheslines followed by a back body drop and gets a near fall. Porter with a snap mare and arm bar. Rhodes gets to his feet and Rhodes gets to the ropes.

Porter with a punch to the midsection followed by a suplex for a near fall. Porter returns to the arm bar. Cody with an arm drag but Porter holds on to the arm bar. Rhodes with a kick but Porter with a punch and then Porter with a clothesline that sends Rhodes over the top rope to the floor. Porter with a pescado onto Rhodes and then he sends Rhodes’ arm into the ring post and apron. We go to commercial.

We are back and Rhodes with a hard Irish whip and boot to the ribs. Rhodes with a punch, forearm, and elbow to Porter in the corner. Rhodes with an Irish whip but Porter floats over and hits a running clothesline and gets a near fall. Porter returns to the arm but Rhodes with a jawbreaker. Rhodes with a boot to the chest and a gourdbuster. Rhodes with a Ric Flair rolling knee drop and he gets a near fall. Rhodes with a slam but he misses another knee drop. Porter with a running forearm for a near fall.

Rhodes goes to the floor and he is telling the referee about the trauma that his face has suffered during the match. Rhodes pulls Porter to the floor and Porter is sent into the ringside barrier and Rhodes gets a near fall. Rhodes with a head lock but Porter with a rollup. Rhodes with boots to the head and then he uses his boot on Porter’s face. Rhodes with a boot to the head followed by a knee to the face. Rhodes gets a near fall. Rhodes with a front face lock but Porter sends Rhodes into the turnbuckles.

Porter charges into a boot from Rhodes and Porter has his hand on the rope. Rhodes moves Porter into the center of the ring and gets a near fall. Porter with an Irish whip but he charges into an elbow and Rhodes with a springboard round kick but Porter is under the ropes. Rhodes with boots to Porter. Rhodes gets a near fall. Rhodes with a crossface on Porter and we go to commercial.

We are back and Rhodes with a drop kick and both men are down. Rhodes gets a near fall but he does not make a good cover. Rhodes with a better cover and another near fall. Rhodes punches Porter and then connects with a boot to the chest and then he puts Porter in a head scissors with the arm isolated. Porter gets Rhodes on his shoulders and he hits an electric chair drop and gets a near fall. Porter with another near fall. Rhodes runs Porter into the corner and he punches and kicks Porter until the referee warns him.

Porter is put on the top turnbuckle and Rhodes goes up top but Porter pushes him off. Rhodes stops Porter and Cody hits a dashing superplex and Rhodes gets a near fall. Rhodes with a forearm to Porter and Rhodes with a surfboard but Porter is able to escape. Rhodes misses an elbow drop when Porter moves out of the way. Rhodes runs into an elbow and then misses a charge into the corner. Porter with a flying clothesline and both men are down again. Porter and Rhodes with punches but Porter with a double thrust and then he tosses Rhodes into the air and he lands face first on the mat. Porter with the facebuster and it is time for some ballin’ and he connects with the Ballin’ Elbow. Porter tries for the Play of the Day but Rhodes escapes and hits the Alabama Slam but Cody takes too long to make the cover and Porter kicks out.

Rhodes hits Cross Rhodes and gets the three count.

We begin with a look back at the way that Nexus lost a member last week on Raw.

We are live on tape from Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Michael ‘Waiting for the General Messenger’ Cole and Jerry ‘90210’ Lawler.

Sheamus comes to the ring and we see what Randy Orton did to Sheamus last week on Raw.

Sheamus has a serious look on his face fella. He says that one thing that he learned about Americans is that their children are spoiled brats. They are annoying and selfish and they complain until they get their way. Sheamus goes to the front row and he wants to know what they deserved to get such good seats. He calls the kids disgraces. He says that there is a bigger spoiled child here in the WWE and his name is Randy Orton. Since Orton couldn’t win the title at SummerSlam, he attacked him the next night on Raw. He talks about how he got hit with a chair while the fans were chanting for an RKO. Sheamus reminds us that he is the WWE Champion, not Randy Orton. Sheamus says that he hasn’t been on the same page as the General Manager, but with Night of Champions coming up, he does not want the spoiled child to be rewarded. He says that Orton should be punished or locked up in prison. He says that Orton should not get another title match.

The General Messenger dings in and Michael Cole puts on his reading glasses. He says that he has no problem with Sheamus. He has been able to retain his title and he says that Sheamus should be rewarded. Tonight, he is going to do something unprecedented. The General Messenger asks to have a throne brought out. He says that Sheamus will be the one to decide his next challenger. Sheamus will be able to watch and observe the matches to determine who his opponent will be for Night of Champions.

Sheamus says that justice has finally been done in the WWE and he thanks the General Messenger.

Cole says that the first match is taking place now.

Match Number One: Edge versus R Truth

They lock up and Edge with a knee and forearm. Edge misses a clothesline but Truth hits a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and then clotheslines Edge over the top rope to the floor. Truth misses a pescado when Edge moves out of the way. Edge picks up Truth and sends him into the ringside barrier. Edge returns Truth to the ring and Edge follows. Edge with a kick to the head but Truth with punches. Edge with a forearm to the back and kicks to the head. Edge chokes Truth in the ropes and then he hits a cross body to Truth’s back as Truth has nowhere to go and Edge with a near fall. Edge with a surfboard to Truth but Truth gets to his feet and punches Edge. Both men try for cross bodies and both men are down.

Edge misses a clothesline but Truth with a few clotheslines of his own including a flying one. Truth with a punch but Edge with an Irish whip. Truth floats over and then hits a hip toss and does a split before misses a leaping leg lariat. Edge with an Edge-O-Matic to Truth. Edge sets for a spear and misses it when Truth leap frogs him. Truth misses a scissors kick but Edge does not miss the second spear attempt and gets the three count.

Winner: Edge

After the match, Edge tells Sheamus that he can sit in his stupid little throne and brag about who he has beaten, but until you beat a nine time champion and the man who led Team WWE to victory at SummerSlam, and the man who is the Rated R Superstar, you haven’t beaten anybody.

We take a look behind the scenes of Dashing Cody Rhodes’ dashing appearance on Warehouse 13, tomorrow night on Syfy before NXT (that would be 9:00 PM eastern/8:00 PM central for those not familiar with NXT).

Match Number Two: Great Khali with Dancing Runjin Singh versus Chris Jericho

Khali stares at Sheamus and then Jericho punches Khali in the face but Khali blocks another punch and picks up Jericho and sends him to the mat. Khali with kick and elbows in the corner. Khali with a chop across the chest followed by a forearm to the top of the head. Khali misses a leg drop and Jericho with a kick to the knee. Jericho slams the knee into the mat and then drops an elbow on the knee. Jericho uses the ropes to get more pressure put on the leg. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho but Khali with the Khali Krush, but Jericho was able to get to the floor. Jericho with a kick to the leg as Khali staggers around the ring. Jericho tries fro the Codebreaker but Khali catches him and drops him to the mat. Khali with clotheslines to Jericho followed by a slam. Khali misses a boot in the corner and Jericho goes for the leg and then he tries to put Khali in the Walls of Jericho and he succeeds and Khali taps out.

Winner: Chris Jericho

After the match, Jericho asks Sheamus if he watched his match. Jericho says that Edge was not the first Undisputed Champion in WWE history. He did not make a giant tap out. He says that Edge is not the best in the world at what he does, Chris says that he does. Jericho tells Sheamus to choose him as his next opponent.

Khali chops Jericho off the turnbuckles to the floor.

We see footage from last week’s Daniel Bryan versus Michael Tarver match that was interrupted by Alex Riley and The Miz.

Josh Mathews is with John Cena in the interview area. Josh asks John about Miz last week. John says that he does not regret choosing Daniel Bryan over Miz. He says that Bryan did great and Miz almost cost them the match. Ever since Miz won his Money in the Bank challenge, he has a bigger mouth and attitude problem. Cena says that he shuts it with an Attitude Adjustment.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jillian says that she was Divas Champion before and she will be Divas Champion again tonight. Jillian starts to ‘sing’ but she is interrupted by her opponent.

Match Number Three: Melina versus Jillian Hall for the Divas Title

They lock up and Jillian backs Melina into the ropes and breaks. Jillian with a forearm but Melina with a head scissors and kick to the head. Melina does a split and then avoids a boot from Jillian. Melina with a kick and then she tries for a splash in the ropes but Jillian moves. Jillian with a surfboard but Melina with another split but this time Jillian decides to use Melina as a human surfboard. Jillian with a forearm and Melina with a matrix followed by a take down for a near fall. Jillian with a clothesline after Melina floats over. Jillian sends Melina to the mat and Jillian goes to the turnbuckles for a screaming leg drop but she misses when Melina moves. Melina with the Banshee Code Red for the three count.

Winner: Melina

After the match, Michelle and Layla are on the TitanTron. They say that they feel bad for what they did at SummerSlam, but they really didn’t. Since next week is the 900th episode of Raw, they have an offer for Melina that she can’t refuse.

Josh is in the locker room with the Miz and Josh wants to know if Miz wants to respond to what John Cena said earlier. Miz says that he nailed Daniel Bryan in the back of the head, but what about Cena. Cena put Team WWE at risk. The minute Cena chose a nobody over him. Miz says that Cena wants to talk about egos, but really? Miz says that after the WWE Title Match at SummerSlam, Sheamus had to be carried out. Did Miz cash in his Money in the Bank? No, because he was thinking about Team WWE. Cena should have talked to him about the decision. Instead, he tried to embarrass Miz in front of the world. Tonight, he will beat Cena and show him that there will be consequences for his actions. As for Sheamus, he doesn’t think that Sheamus will pick him, but it doesn’t matter because he can pick Sheamus any time he wants and anywhere. He might pick Sheamus tonight.

We are back and Sheamus is back on his throne.

Wade Barrett and the rest of Nexus come out and we have something from the General Messenger. Cole goes to the Computer of General Managerdom. He says that he requested for Nexus to come out because he was impressed with their performances. The ‘you can’t wrestle for titles’ ban has been lifted.

Wade gets in Sheamus’ face and Sheamus turns paler than usual. Wade tells Sheamus that their truce is over.

Sheamus sits down and thinks about what that means for him.

The Miz and John Cena walk in split screen in their t-shirts which you can get online.

We are back with the Slam of the Week: Miz and Alex Riley attacking Daniel Bryan last week.

Match Number Four: John Cena versus Miz

They circle each other in the ring and Miz with a kick and punches. Miz with more kicks and punches to Cena as he pummels Cena. Miz with more punches followed by a hard Irish whip. Cena with punches followed by a side slam for a near fall. Cena with an Irish whip but he misses a charge into the corner and hits the ring post. Miz with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Miz with elbows to the chest followed by punches. Cena responds with punches and a suplex for a near fall. Miz with a kick to Cena followed by a kick to the midsection. Miz with a knee to the back and then he rakes the face. Miz with a leg drop for a near fall. Miz with kicks and punches but Cena with a kick and a leap frog neck breaker. Cena goes up top but Miz knocks Cena to the floor as we go to commercial.

We are back and Miz has Cena in a reverse chin lock and Miz gets on Cena’s back to add pressure. Cena gets to a three point stance but Cena recovers and backs Miz into the turnbuckles. Cena tries for the bulldog but Miz pushes him out of the way. Miz with a boot for a near fall and Cena goes to the apron. Miz punches Cena and then hits a running knee lift from the floor. Miz with a slingshot into the bottom rope and he gets a near fall. Miz waits for Cena to get to his feet and he hits the Awesome Clothesline in the corner. Miz gets a near fall. Miz waits for Cena to get up again and tries for the Awesome Clothesline but Cena gets out of the way and Miz goes into the turnbuckles. Cena with the two flying shoulder tackles followed by the Blue Thunder Bomb and it is time for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena with the Attitude Adjustment set up but Miz with a pair of neck breakers for a near fall. Miz waits for Cena to get to his feet as if he was a snake. Cena avoids the Skull Crushing Finale and he hits a drop toe hold into the STF. Miz reaches for the ropes and gets there. Miz with a boot to Cena’s head and he gets a near fall.

They get to their feet and Miz with a punch and Irish whip. Cena blocks the Skull Crushing Finale, but Miz gets to the apron. From out of nowhere, Daniel Bryan comes out and sends Miz back into the ring and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: The Miz by disqualification

After the match, Cena puts Miz in the Attitude Adjustment and then Bryan comes into the ring and puts Miz in the Omoplata. The referees try to pull Bryan off Miz.

Match Number Five: Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov versus The Usos with Tamina

Santino and Jimmy start things off and Jimmy backs into the corner to avoid wild kicks. Santino tries for the cobra. Jimmy with a knee and punch to the head. Jey tags in and he hits a flying clothesline as Jimmy sends Santino to him. Jey with a slam and then he hits a leg drop for a near fall. Jimmy tags in and Santino with a hip toss but Jimmy swats a drop kick away. Jimmy gets a near fall. Jimmy with a front face lock. Santino tries to make the tag but Jimmy knocks Kozlov off the apron. Santino with a back body drop. Jey and Kozlov tag in and Kozlov sends Jey into the turnbuckles and he connects with head butts and a power slam. Santino sends Jimmy to the floor but Jey with a savate kick to Santino that sends him to the floor. Kozlov blocks a kick and hits a spinebuster for the three count.

Winners: Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov

After the match Jimmy wants to attack Santino but Tamina stops Jimmy. Tamina gazes at Santino as she leaves with the Usos. Tamina blows a kiss to Santino.

It is time for This Week in WWE History. We go to Toronto in August 1986 when over 70,000 people attended The Big Event at Exhibition Stadium.

We are back and Sheamus is back on the throne.

Match Number Six: Ted DiBiase with Maryse versus John Morrison versus Randy Orton

Orton looks at Sheamus and he gets off his throne. DiBiase kicks Morrison and sends him to the floor. Orton blocks a punch and Orton with punches of his own. Orton with a European uppercut and Morrison trips DiBiase. Morrison with a double jump round kick to DiBiase before he returns to the ring. Orton with a side head lock and shoulder tackle for a near fall. Orton returns to the reverse chin lock. Orton with a shoulder tackle but Morrison with a kip up and drop kick for a near fall. Orton throws Morrison over the top rope and that means that DiBiase is back in the ring and he kicks Orton and gets a near fall. DiBiase with kicks to Orton. Ted with more kicks in the corner.

Orton with kicks and punches. Orton with more kicks but Ted with the rebound clothesline. DiBiase with a neck breaker to Morrison for a near fall. Ted punches Morrison but Morrison with a jawkbreaker. Orton with clotheslines to Ted and Morrison and then he gives each man a power slam. Orton gets fired up and then he kicks Ted and tries for the IEDDT but Morrison tries for the springboard round kick. Orton ducks and Morrison rolls to the floor as Orton hits the IEDDT and he sets for the RKO with push ups. Ted escapes the RKO and Morrison with a leg lariat. Ted sends Morrison over the top rope to the floor. Orton escapes Dream Street and Morrison tries for a springboard move but Orton with an RKO for the three count.

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match, Ted tries to attack Orton but Randy is too fast and then gives Ted an RKO.

Sheamus is in the interview area and Josh wants to know why Sheamus walked out during the last match. Sheamus says that he has made his decision and he will do it in front of the world in the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back fella and Sheamus is in the ring fella. He says that he has been thinking about it for a while. He says that despite what happened last week, he is still a warrior. A Celtic Warrior. He has a huge announcement tonight. He will not wait for Night of Champions and he is going to defend his title right now.

Sheamus demands a referee come out. Sheamus says that he has seen a lot of Superstars who deserve a title match. Sheamus says that you cannot succeed without a few challenges. He is going to give someone who has never had a WWE Title match before. That man is Zack Ryder.

Zack thanks Sheamus for the opportunity but Sheamus is making the biggest mistake of his life because everyone is looking at the next WWE Champion.

Match Number Seven: Zack Ryder versus Sheamus for the WWE Title

Sheamus with a pump kick for the three count.

Winner: Sheamus

After the match, Sheamus gets on the mic. He says that is another successful title retention for the Celtic Warrior. He says that he wants to bring up some of the WWE rules. He has thirty days to defend his title. That means that this champion is taking the night off.

Sheamus says that he is going to take the whole month off and go back to Ireland.

Wade Barrett interrupts Sheamus and he comes to the ring. Wade says that Sheamus doesn’t have to defend the title for thirty days. Wade reminds us that he won Season One of NXT. Wade says that he gets a title opportunity at a pay per view of his choice. He chooses to face Sheamus at Night of Champions. Wade tells Sheamus that his next title defense is against him.

The General Messenger makes itself known that it is still there. Cole says that Wade Barrett’s request has been upheld. Sheamus will defend against Barrett at Night of Champions. However, Sheamus talked about opportunity and he is going to give four other deserving Superstars a chance. There will be a Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Title. He will face Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Edge, and John Cena.

All six men are in the ring and they stare each other down. Sheamus pushes Barrett in the middle and they surround him. Barrett pleads his case and Cena goes after Barrett. The other four join in. Sheamus throws Barrett out of the ring. Jericho with a Codebreaker to Sheamus followed by a spear to Jericho. Cena with Attitude Adjustment to Edge. Orton with an RKO to Cena and we go to credits with the Viper posing on the turnbuckles.

Off Air:

As many of you may have read (due to the fact that Raw taped double episodes), Cena was featured in the ‘Dark Main Event’ after Raw went off the air and the cameras stopped rolling. Here is what happened at the culmination of last week’s double taping:

John Cena wins a 20-man battle royal. All the Nexus guys are eliminated first followed by Big Show, R-Truth and several others. Final three is CM Punk, Edge and John Cena. Punk eliminates Edge but Cena finally eliminates Punk to win.
